Mrs. Dempsey, Aquatic Director at the “Y” since 1982, serves as a liaison between the YMCA and the Stingray Swim Team.  She is a YMCA official, YMCA official trainer and swim coach trainer for the national YMCA.  She is very involved with the Y’s team.  Her goal is that the GSY Stingrays remain the best program for competitive swimming in Northeast Pennsylvania for swimmers of all ages.

Stephanie Campbell, Head Coach

A four-year letter winner in women's swimming, Humphries Campbell was a five-time individual All-American and a three-time All-American in relays. She was also a five-time PSAC champion, including winning three consecutive 200-butterfly titles. Humphries also finished as a PSAC runner-up five times. She capped off her career by being named the top senior female athlete for 1994-95. She still holds the school record for her time in the 100 yard butterfly at 57.24 seconds.

As a sophomore, Humphries Campbell won two individual PSAC championships and one relay title. At the NCAA championships she earned the first two of her five All-American awards taking second in the 200 butterfly and third in the 100-butterfly at the NCAA championships. In her junior season, Humphries repeated as the PSAC champion in the 200-fly and was second in the event at NCAA's and was sixth in the 100-fly. As a senior, Humphries three-peated as the 200-fly champion at the PSAC championships and for the third straight year was second in the event at the NCAA championships.

After graduation, Humphries Campbell taught third grade for six years (1996-2002) and coached the men and women's high school swim team for three years for the Stroudsburg Area School District. Married to Brian Campbell, she is the mother of two children, Cailin and Kara, and coaches both youth soccer and softball. From 2003 to 2006 she was director and head teacher at the Hemlock Grove Preschool before returning to public school teaching in 2006.  Coach Stephanie coached the summer swim camps at Bloomsburg University for three summers.

Coach Stephanie has been with the Greater Scranton YMCA as a coach since September 2010, and takes over the reins as Head Coach in the Fall of 2011.
